Led cross-cutting research on maternal and child health in India, Bangladesh, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Afghanistan for a £90 million, five-year strategic grant from DFID. Oversaw qualitative formative research and designed quantitative baseline surveys.

Designed and managed research in Cambodia and Bangladesh to inform project design and assess the impact of projects on health, governance and education – including a £14 million DFID project which made English learning accessible to 24 million Bangladeshis through mobiles, TV and newspapers. Supervised a team of six full-time researchers. Oversaw implementation of depth interviews, focus groups, panels and a quantitative survey of 7500.

Designed and managed research to assess the Serbian media’s coverage of EU integration, including focus groups in five regions of the country, and content analysis of 38 print, broadcast and online media outlets. Conducted interviews with senior media stakeholders. Wrote report for the Serbian government.

Deputised for research manager on Africa Talks Climate – the most extensive research ever conducted on the public understanding of climate change in Africa. Managed fieldwork in Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo; supported fieldwork in a further eight African countries. Trained a multi-national research team in qualitative data analysis. Quality controlled analysis and writing of ten country reports and an executive summary.

Designed research instruments, analysed data and wrote reports on Iran journalism training project.
